Modern Press has acquired The Letter Shop
Patrick M. Ryan, Third Generation Owner of Modern Press, One Colonie Street, Albany, NY is pleased to announce that Lawrence A. Propp, the President/Owner of The Letter Shop in Albany, New York has chosen Modern Press to service his customers as he eases into retirement.
Mr. Ryan is looking forward to the opportunity to continue to provide great family owned and operated service to The Letter Shop’s customers. “Mr. Propp’s decision to choose us is a fantastic compliment,” Mr. Ryan said. He went on to say that “we won’t let him or his customers down”.
The Letter Shop was founded in 1913. In 1930 Elihu Propp bought the Letter Shop. In 1972 Lawrence Propp became president. As of January 5, 2009, Modern Press, a family owned and operated commercial printer established in 1946 by Patrick’s grandfather, Patrick J. Ryan, will be handling The Letter Shop’s accounts with the assistance of the retiring President/Owner, Lawrence A. Propp. Modern Press will continue to provide excellent printing, with a fast turnaround, while offering a variety of new technologies to customers, such as fully digital pre-press, high speed Xerox DocuColor digital printing, variable data printing, die-cutting, four color offset printing and online ordering and file transfer. Customers will have access to a larger design, digital printing and offset press department, allowing for quicker turnaround, even on big jobs. “Modern Press has the knowledge, capability, and commitment to excellence to continue providing The Letter Shop’s customers with state-of-the-art printing services”, said Patrick Ryan. Both Patrick Ryan and Lawrence Propp will be visiting clients to introduce them to the enhanced print capabilities that Modern can offer them. “We will be striving to provide the same level of customer service and satisfaction that has been a standard at The Letter Shop for 95 years”, said Patrick Ryan. All files, artwork, and job information will be archived at Modern Press so that customers will be able to order as they always have. In addition, Mary Scaligeri from The Letter Shop will be joining the Modern Press team. Patrick said “he is also looking forward to listening to the customer’s needs and earning their trust”.
